4 Months Old

Today was Sophia's 4 month check up. She is a healthy little peanut and we just love her to pieces. Here are her stats:

Weight: 12lbs 10oz (25th percentile)
Height: 24 inches (45th percentile)
Head: 16 inches (50th percentile)

Her favorite things to do these days are:

* Rollover. She is getting really good at it!
* Play in her jumperoo, even though she is too short to touch the bottom
* Stand in your lap (she does not like to sit)
* Go on runs with Mommy. She likes going fast in the stroller. She giggles. It's cute.
* She loves when we sing to her. Her favorite songs are "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and "Happy Birthday". She smiles when we sing her name.
* And she is chatting up a storm. Who knows what she is talking about, but she is very loud. Especially at 6am. I think she is going to be a talker!

Running (with Stroller)

Last night was my first run since last summer. I ran 1.5 miles with Miss Sophia in the stroller. On Monday I started an 8 week training program to run a 5k by the end of September. While training for a 5k would have seemed silly to do a year ago it is something I need now for three reasons:

1) I just had a baby and the thought of running more than a mile seems overwhelming
2) I am training to run with the stroller
3) I am heading back to work and need a program to be on so that I don’t get too tired and lazy once I throw a work week into the mix

Like I said, I started this program Monday. Luckily Day One of the program was a “rest” day. Easy. Check. Onto day two.

My run last night was good. It got a lot easier once I realized that I only needed to push the jogging stroller with one arm (doh!). Prior to that I was death gripping it with both arms and my arms were killing me. Live and learn.

Ringo Starr

Yesterday was my parents 30th wedding anniversary. Congratulations Mom and Dad!

We celebrated by taking them to the Ringo Starr concert at the winery on Saturday. Needless to say, it was a damn good time.

Dad surprised mom with a limo ride to the concert and we toasted to a great evening.

We packed a picnic and enjoyed the Chateau Ste. Michelle wine...

... We even thought of starting our own band. I think the air guitars would be a hit!

It was a great evening with lots of laughs, dancing and great music.

Isn't my mom a babe? Jay is one lucky guy :)

Parents Night Out!

Last night we took our friends out on the boat for a much needed Parents Night Out. We boated over to Lake Union, docked at Joey's for dinner and then cruised back. We had so much fun! The weather was amazing and the lake was beautiful, but most of all we enjoyed the conversations and laughs with our dear friends. We are so thankful to have all of you in our lives! :) We can't wait until our next outing!!

All the parents as they arrived at the boat...
Erinn & Shaun

Heather & Anthony

Kristi & Nate

Erinn, Kristi & Heather brought drinks and snacks for the ride over and we enjoyed cocktail hour on the boat.

We had a nice dinner at Joey's.

And the boat ride home was fun... we got a little silly :)

And a special thanks to all of the grandparents for watching the kiddos! We really appreciate it :) Love you all!

Snuggle Time

Sun Lakes

Last weekend we went camping with G&G (My parents) to Sun Lakes. Papa Ron (Jeff's Dad) drove over on Sunday and spent the last day with us. We had a great time! This was Sophia's first camping trip and she did awesome.

We spent our days out on the boat and our nights around the camp fire. Grandma Lisa bought Mason an inter tube and we took him tubing for the first time. He LOVED it! I think we dragged him around the lake 5+ times. He didn't want to stop. It was so cute :)

Papa Ron gave Mason a razor scooter and Mason thought he was so cool "scooting" around the campsite. He kept saying "I love my scooter" -- So cute.

Other highlights:
WINDY: It was super windy (I mean, blow your tent over windy) during the night which made it hard for me to sleep. luckily the kiddos slept just fine.
WILD LIFE: Jeff, Mason, Grandma Lisa and Grandpa Jay saw a rattlesnake right by our campsite - YIKES! We also heard a pack of coyotes howling the first night. Oh yea, and bats would fly over our campsite at night. crazy!
WICKED FUN TIME: All in all we had a blast. We always have so much fun camping with G&G. When they bought their RV 4 years ago I didn't realize the enjoyment it would bring. Great family memories.

Who's Baby is that?!

I know I am way behind on my blogging. We have been enjoying our crazy fun, but busy summer. I promise to get everyone up-to-date on our adventures soon. In the meantime here is a fun post.

Here's a collage of baby pics. Can you tell which one is Sophia and which one is me? :) Do you think we look alike? Now I know where Sophia gets her ears from! :)

Thanks to Aunt Martha for sending the baby picture of me!

Star Wars, Flippers, Legos & Red Robin...

...must be a birthday in the Bellamy house! Mason's 7th Birthday is tomorrow and we celebrated tonight by going to Red Robin with the Grandma Lisa, Grandpa Jay, Papa Ron & Auntie Ali. As Mason would say, "We celebrate all birthdays at Red Robin". His favorite part is when they sing happy birthday. We typically pass the time waiting for our food by counting how many times we hear the birthday song. Mason smiles every time he hears it.

Happy Birthday Mason! We love you so much!! You are a bright, smart, kind and caring young man. Thank you for being a great big brother to Sophia and an amazing son!!

Mason put on his new snorkel gear as soon as we got home tonight. He LOVES it and can't wait to bring it to Florida this summer. Thanks G&G!

Once we got the snorkel gear on, we spent the rest of the night playing with our new toys. Mason beat me at a rowdy game of Trouble (the Star Wars version, of course) and we decided which lego set we were going put together this weekend. I am pretty sure Mason is having a fun birthday. Before he headed up to bed he said, "Today was a great day" :) I couldn't agree more.

There is one more present to open in the morning. Mason has been guessing what it could be. He thinks it is a Star Wars Double Light Saber (he is right, btw), but I told him it is a Barbie Car. :) He smiled and headed off to bed. Nighty Night.

Babies on Couches

Over the past two weekends we have had so much fun hanging out with other babies. And the funniest thing to do with a group of babies is to line them up on a couch and take their picture.

Here is a picture of all of the babies at my best friend Heather's baby shower. The meltdowns, missing socks and babies tipping over make this picture super cute. Babies born from Jan 16th - May 1st (in order)

Yesterday we had a reunion with all of the parents from our birthing class. It was wonderful to see all of the parents again and especially great to see all of the little babies. The babies in this picture were born Feb 14 - March 31 (not in order). Sophia is the youngest of the group.

Playing

Sophia had a very busy morning playing with all of her toys.

Last week we got a new play mat and she loves it!

She isn't a big fan of her bumbo chair, but she will sit there for a few minutes without fussing.

And all of that playing makes her very sleepy.

Road Trip!

Last weekend the Bellamy family took a road trip to Vancouver, BC to watch Jeff run the Vancouver marathon. It is about a 3 hour car ride, but to Mason it seemed like we were driving all the way to Florida. He probably asked "How much longer?" or "Are we almost there?" about fifty times :)

We stayed at the Four Seasons, the host hotel for the marathon, and when we arrived we were greeted with a lot of goodies. Mason was able to pick a toy out of the toy box at the front desk, they placed a basket full of baby products/supplies in our room for Sophia and there was a bag full of running stuff for Jeff. Fancy! Within 15 minutes of getting into our room Mason had snuggled himself into his bed and was channel surfing (something he doesn't typically get to do at home). He was in heaven with his new toy in one hand, a squishy ball he named Bob, and the remote in the other hand. Here is a pic of Mason zoned out watching TV...

The next day we went to the Vancouver aquarium and the marathon expo. It was a beautiful day in Vancouver which made the aquarium very fun. We were able to watch a couple of different shows including Beluga Whales, Dolphins and Sea Lions. Very fun. We all agreed that the dolphin show was the most entertaining.

Sunday was the marathon and Jeff had an amazing run. Here is a pic of Mason and Sophie cheering him on at the finish line.

Overall we had a great road trip, but realized we need to optimize how we pack. When we checked out of the hotel the bellman told us we had 17 pieces of luggage. Yes, 17 pieces of luggage for 4 people and 3 nights. Crazy.
