4 Months Old

Today was Sophia's 4 month check up. She is a healthy little peanut and we just love her to pieces. Here are her stats:

Weight: 12lbs 10oz (25th percentile)
Height: 24 inches (45th percentile)
Head: 16 inches (50th percentile)

Her favorite things to do these days are:

* Rollover. She is getting really good at it!
* Play in her jumperoo, even though she is too short to touch the bottom
* Stand in your lap (she does not like to sit)
* Go on runs with Mommy. She likes going fast in the stroller. She giggles. It's cute.
* She loves when we sing to her. Her favorite songs are "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and "Happy Birthday". She smiles when we sing her name.
* And she is chatting up a storm. Who knows what she is talking about, but she is very loud. Especially at 6am. I think she is going to be a talker!

Running (with Stroller)

Last night was my first run since last summer. I ran 1.5 miles with Miss Sophia in the stroller. On Monday I started an 8 week training program to run a 5k by the end of September. While training for a 5k would have seemed silly to do a year ago it is something I need now for three reasons:

1) I just had a baby and the thought of running more than a mile seems overwhelming
2) I am training to run with the stroller
3) I am heading back to work and need a program to be on so that I don’t get too tired and lazy once I throw a work week into the mix

Like I said, I started this program Monday. Luckily Day One of the program was a “rest” day. Easy. Check. Onto day two.

My run last night was good. It got a lot easier once I realized that I only needed to push the jogging stroller with one arm (doh!). Prior to that I was death gripping it with both arms and my arms were killing me. Live and learn.

Ringo Starr

Yesterday was my parents 30th wedding anniversary. Congratulations Mom and Dad!

We celebrated by taking them to the Ringo Starr concert at the winery on Saturday. Needless to say, it was a damn good time.

Dad surprised mom with a limo ride to the concert and we toasted to a great evening.

We packed a picnic and enjoyed the Chateau Ste. Michelle wine...

... We even thought of starting our own band. I think the air guitars would be a hit!

It was a great evening with lots of laughs, dancing and great music.

Isn't my mom a babe? Jay is one lucky guy :)
